What makes mics hum-sensitive? - i tried two pairs of akg c480b with ck61, ck62 etc. capsules once, and they were acting like really good antennas. they picked up everything including interference from my cd player several metres away (and they weren't br I used to have a problem similar to this and it drove me absolutely berzerk! turns out it was the computer monitor i was using. Akg c480b - it's a very good mic. i use it and have used it at times where i wanted/needed to use a small diaphram pencil condensor mic. vocals would be the absolute last place i would use that mic - but then there are times i'm sure when it would be just This is a small diaphragm condenser suitable for overheads, acoustic instruments, hi hat, snare (sometimes), percussion .... it can be used on vocal but ymmv .... there should be a foam wind screen.
