Channel strip or just pre-amp? - i'm in the same market to buy a couple of channel strips. i'm torn between buying a pair of api 7600 or the origin. now the sebatron is mentioned. the origin seems to be getting the vote. any other opinions?

2 mic pres to get it all covered??? - i don't know about ''covering it all'' but i do have the 6176 and the dvc and it covers a pretty good range. if you have the cash though, i would probably go with the ua 6176 and an api 7600.

We have the 6167 strip and its wonderful to use, although it is very colored. Either way, you can reduce or boost gain to suit your needs so its flexible. The 1176 can be bypassed if you want extra color...

It's time - new vocal chain - if you are set on those choices, then i'd go with the lawson l47, api 7600 - done!

Ok ill help you spend some money how much $$one channel and you should go for the channel strip.But theres nothing wrong with a clean compressor for vocal is that one you have a good one...

Best price on api 7600? - every dollar counts! i just did a weekend of vocals with an avalon 737 sp and the 7600 (both borrowed)....api won hands down for me. the vocalist is extremely dynamic, and it was so easy to get transparent results from the compre
