I think my ps are popping I've been having trouble where my microphone level is jumping up too high in the mix. I think i have my 286a set alright to where it's adding some nice compression, but every so often i'm out of acceptable range.... Dbx 286a gives distorted wave form. Recording male speaking voice. I'm using dbx 286a with garageband or with audacity (mac editing programs). With garageband the wave form, as i record, is symmetrical above and below the horizontal midline. When i stop the recording, the wave form... Recommendations for first pro channel strip. - thanks moonbaby and teddyg, i'll check out dbx tomorow! it think it's quite affordable in asia. i'm using rode ntk, at2020 and a couple of sm58s at the moment. my outboard effect processor is tc m300, a I have had very bad experiences with the platinum series from focusrite. power supply issues, weak headroom, just not up to snuff considering its namesake.
