Art tube channel - hey guys! thanks a million for all the advice, it's really appreciated. jahtao, i've a few 57s, a few 58s, a m-audio solaris and a mxl v69. i only have a m-audio octane so as you can see i have to get a little variety in terms of preamp

Never used it or any other art gear. if thats significantly cheaper than the going rate on ebay buy it have some fun with it and then sell it (probably) before the market changes. Make sure you aint paying...

Adding 8 channels - the fw1884 can input a max of 14 channels at 96k through the adat and spdif connections simultaniusly (simultaneusly, simultaneously, sumultaneusly, anyway). other than that you'd have to add anouther interface like drowningmonkrec

Adding 8 channels - actually, both of the strips i recommended are adat interfaces (rather than firewire), so they should work with any program. i suppose it wouldn't hurt to check this out for yourself before adding one to your setup. i don't know exac

Adding 8 channels - i'm using pc pentium 4 2.8 ghz and cubase sx 3.0 so i guess should be enough for handling another interface trough a adat or spdif.

They are probably about the same ... real ok but not anything special. They might have a slight difference in tonality but they will not compare to the real good stuff like an api or neve ... in the...

M-audio octane - hello people i have a digi 002 and i wanted a preamp for drums and i was looking at the m-audio octane (which is 8 channels). now are the octane preamps better than the ones on the digi 002 or the same? i dont want to buy new preamps

8 channel preamp for semi/pro studio - i agree completely a live to dead mix creates the best sound. especially if you can achieve early reflections. the recording room is 24x18 feet. the floor is concrete. the walls are not really completely anechoic. i

8 channel preamp for semi/pro studio - the jlm is probably what i would choose in your situation as well. the only other one i can think of that i would use is the ''true systems'' 8 channel pre.
