Problem... only two pre's - hahaha, i only use triggers as reinforcement rarely or if i'm recording a metal band with fear factory influences. The 1820 sports 2 mic pres and 6 line inputs ... Good preamp - your not going to find anything very good at that price. you might consider finding a used mackie 1604vlz. it has 8 direct outs. you should be able to find one in vgc within your budget. If there is no such beast to give me 8 pre's in one rack space for 500-700 bucks then just let me know of some good pre units that i could get that would add up to 8 channels yet...
