Definitely go balanced if you can get it within your price range. If it means too much strain on your budget, un-balanced may work very well - depending on your environment.

Why would you want to? to me, this is like buying two sets of converters when you only really want one.

You could get the optional x-firewire card built in to the rosetta 200, and connect directly to the computer using firewire. You would need either winxp or mac os x, and an available firewire port.
