Acting up may be too kind. Seems it doesn't see any x10 commands at all, or rather indigo doesn't see them.
the x10 commands are on the powerline line, confirmed with testerlinc.
have rebooted mac, restarted indigo, unplugged powerlinc.
i can send x10...

I think i ended up making things complicated for myself so i'm starting over with an ms10a motions sensor.
in the security script i change a variable to true when motion is detected
