Motor Consumiendo aceite(motor 2.2)

Tengo un cavalier 98 motor 2.2 y me esta consumiendo un litro de aceite cada 800 km aproximadamente. la cuestion es que no le veo bote por ningun lado ni sale humo por el escape tampoco hay olor a aceite quemado, los mecanicos me dicen que tengo reparar el motor por que se dañaron los aros pero ni siquiera lo rebisan.
